Women's Linen clothing
A skirt or a dress in linen, a linen shirt, a bathrobe, or even pyjamas... explore our extensive collection of washed linen clothing for women, designed to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer, made from high-quality linen grown in France and Belgium and carefully crafted in our workshop in Portugal.
The advantages of linen clothing for women.
Linen is a very strong and durable fiber. It takes a very long period of regular use for any signs of wear to become apparent. It does not pill and becomes softer over time and with repeated washes.
Linen is machine washable and even becomes softer with repeated wash cycles. However, it is best to follow the manufacturer's care instructions and, for example, avoid fabric softeners, which can degrade the fibre and may be harmful to your skin when it comes to clothing.
Linen has the most eco-friendly carbon footprint of any fibre. Linen grows in the northwest regions of France and Belgium for 80% of its cultivation, requiring no pesticides or irrigation, unlike cotton, which is a heavy water consumer for its growth. Finally, the entire plant is used in various applications, and once transformed into thread, insulation, and many other applications, it is fully biodegradable.
Cultivated in France, linen is then woven and dyed in our partner factory in northern Portugal, in Guimarães, and then crafted in our workshop located on the outskirts of the capital of Portugal, Lisbon.
Behind our collection of linen clothing for women or for men, as well as all the linen products we offer, there is a team that encompasses all stages of their creation, from design to pattern making, cutting to button placement, with meticulous attention to every detail.
Our offering of linen clothing for women at Linenshed.
Our online store offers a wide range of linen items covering various areas such as bed linens, table linens, a curtain collection, and finally, clothing for women and men. Linen is indeed a material that, while symbolising the warmer months for many, can also be a part of your wardrobe all year round due to its thermoregulatory properties.
Our short-sleeved wrap dresses, elastic waist pants, short-sleeved tunics, or long-sleeved blouses are products that ensure a sophisticated look while providing casual comfort.
For indoor wear, Linenshed offers a wide range of linen nightgowns, linen shorts, long-sleeved linen pyjamas, as well as "Kimono" style robes.
All these products are available, like our entire collection, in our 16 colours so that you can easily match your linen dress, tunic, or shorts with your handbag or other accessories you may already have.
Selecting the right size for Linenshed linen clothing.
The making of your garment receives the utmost attention from the artisan who will create it in our workshop to ensure that it adheres to the measurements you confirmed when placing your order and to meticulously assemble it down to the smallest detail.
At Linenshed, each garment is entrusted to a single artisan who completes it from cutting to button placement. There is no mass production at Linenshed. The garment you order will be made for you and only you, with the measurements and colours you selected when placing your order. Therefore, it is important to double-check your own body measurements in advance and follow our size guide when placing your order, rather than relying on the label of another of your garments.
If necessary, we are always happy to assist you in case of doubts regarding the size to confirm when making your purchase.
Custom-made manufacturing as an innovative approach.
Unlike mass production, where large quantities of standardised items are manufactured in anticipation of hypothetical demand, custom-made production specifically caters to each customer's needs.
As a result, production surpluses are significantly reduced, minimising waste and wasted resources.
This optimisation contributes to the preservation of natural resources and the reduction of the carbon footprint associated with industrial production.
The production of Linenshed linen clothing offers customers, through this more sustainable material, linen, and timeless designs, products that will not need to be replaced as frequently as industrially produced clothing.
In conclusion, custom-made production emerges as an exemplary model, reconciling customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility by reducing waste, optimising resource utilisation, and promoting more mindful consumption.
