     Linen Sheer Curtain

    1. What is a linen sheer curtain, and how is it different from a regular curtain?

A linen sheer curtain is a lightweight, usually unlined curtain woven with a low fabric weight (around 100 to 130 g/m²) that allows natural light to pass through while maintaining a degree of privacy. Its airy weave gives it characteristic lightness and fluidity. Unlike a classic linen curtain (185 g/m² or more), it is not designed to block light but to soften it: it filters sunlight, softens the light in the room, and creates a gentle, warm atmosphere. It’s the ideal choice for spaces where you want to retain brightness while elegantly dressing your windows.

    1. How to choose your linen sheer curtain: weight, color, and hanging method?

Three criteria guide the choice of a linen sheer curtain:

    • Weight: The lower the weight (90–120 g/m²), the more sheer and luminous the curtain. A slightly higher weight (130–150 g/m²) offers more privacy while remaining airy.

    • Color: Natural and ecru are the most popular shades because they maximize light diffusion. Optic white provides a very fresh look. Deeper tones (beige, taupe, dark linen) add character while preserving the fabric’s lightness.

    • Hanging method: Eyelets, hidden tabs, gathered tape, or ruffles—each hanging method changes the drape and overall style of the curtain. Eyelets create neat, modern pleats, while ruffles evoke a more romantic and natural feel.

    1. Can I order a custom-sized linen sheer curtain?

Yes, all our linen sheer curtains are available in custom sizes. Simply specify the width of your rod and the desired height when placing your order. For a beautiful draped effect, we recommend ordering a total width that is 1.5 to 2 times the width of your rod. If you’d like to experience the fabric before ordering, our linen swatch book lets you touch and see the colors in real-life conditions at home.

    1. How to care for and wash a linen sheer curtain?

Washed linen is one of the easiest textiles to maintain. A linen sheer curtain can be machine-washed at 40°C on a gentle cycle with reduced spin. It’s best to rehang it while slightly damp so it naturally regains its drape—the weight of the fabric is usually enough to remove wrinkles. Linen doesn’t need ironing: its slightly wrinkled appearance is part of its natural charm.
