The linen placemat, a must-have for a beautiful dining table

To add a touch of originality to your dining table, there's nothing like a lovely table linen to accompany each of your meals.

A preferred backdrop for your plates, whether they're made of earthenware or fine porcelain, linen placemats will perfectly complement your washed linen tablecloth, your napkins, and your coasters while protecting your tabletop.

Their beauty lies in the detail of artisanal craftsmanship, a fine weave of high density (190 gr) and dyeing (Oeko-tex) that gives them resistance to multiple machine washes. Our linen placemats have a generous size of 35x53cm to frame your plate nicely and also allow you to set your cutlery.

A style of linen placemat for every occasion

Linenshed has reimagined and elevated the placemat in multiple finishes ranging from the most basic to more sophisticated finishes for special occasions such as a wedding or a Christmas dinner.

There are no less than 6 different styles of placemats offered in our Linenshed store. Our linen placemats are sold in sets of 4 or 6 units.

The basic model is finished with a 2 cm hem all around. We offer a version of the placemat with an openwork border, or with a contrasting cord, with a blanket stitch, with a crocheted edge, or a delightful ruffle for a particularly romantic touch. Each of these models can be combined with a washed linen tablecloth or napkins in the same finishes. Available in 16 colors, they offer an infinite possibility of combinations for your table decoration according to your moods and different occasions.

Linen as a durable material for your table linen

Our "premium" linen of French origin is woven and dyed in Portugal, and all the manufacturing of our placemats is done in our workshops on the outskirts of Lisbon in Portugal, making it a 100% European product.

For those who are environmentally conscious, linen is the preferred material as its cultivation requires very little water, no fertilizer, and it absorbs a huge amount of CO2 during its growth to finally be fully recyclable.

Linen is particularly resistant, much more than any other natural material, which means that a linen placemat is the preferred accessory for your table as you can wash it frequently and use it for a long time without even having to iron it if you don't want to.
